Produced by Rakesh Reddy and Deepthi Balagiri, the film is based on events that happened after Laskhmi Parvathi came into NTR's life

Three days after the Election Commission (EC) and the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) gave the green signal for the release of director Ram Gopal Varma's film, Lakshmi's NTR, the Civil Court of Mangalagiri has ordered a stay, a day before its release. The film will not have a release in Andhra Pradesh, despite getting a clearance in Telengana and overseas.

Produced by Rakesh Reddy and Deepthi Balagiri, the film is based on events that happened after Laskhmi Parvathi came into NTR's life.

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders have filed a petition at the Civil Court alleging that the film isn't a faithful representation of the family life of NTR and his family. They also claimed that the film was made with the ulterior motive to destroy the character of TDP President and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu.

Responding on the stay, a source close to RGV told us that they are to file a plea in the High Court as a response.
