Dhanush to play dual roles in Asuran

With music by GV Prakash Kumar and cinematography by Velraj, the film is bankrolled by S Thanu under his banner V Creations

Director Vetrimaaran and Dhanush's upcoming film, Asuran grabbed the attention of the audience when Dhanush's look as a 45-year-old was revealed a while ago. The fourth film of the duo, is progressing at a brisk pace and in a recent interview with a weekly magazine, Vetrimaaran had disclosed that the actor will be seen playing the roles of a father and son in the film. It can be noted that Dhanush has previously played identical twins in 2016's Kodi

Based on Poomani’s Vekkai novel, Asuran is said to be a rural drama set between 60s and 80s. The film also stars Manju Warrier, Pasupathy, Balaji Shakthivel, Karunas’ son Ken and Pawan in pivotal roles. Asuran will be Manju Warrier's Tamil debut.

The director-actor duo is expected to start working on Vada Chennai sequel after wrapping up Asuran. Apart from these projects, Dhanush has his directorial co-starring Aditi Rao Hydari, Srikanth and two films with Durai Senthilkumar and Ratsasan-fame Ramkumar, respectively, in his kitty.
