Actor-director Vijay Kumar's Uriyadi 2, bankrolled by Suriya's 2D Entertainment is set to hit theatres on April 5. The sequel to the 2016 sleeper hit will be released alongside GV Prakash's Kuppathu Raja, Hip Hop Tamizha Adhi's Natpe Thunai, and Resul Pookutty's Oru Kadhai Sollattuma (The Sound Story) in the first weekend of April.

The entire film was shot in a single schedule of 36 days in Tenkasi. Govind Vasantha replaces Masala Coffee as the composer in this sequel. However, the makers have retained the famous Uriyadi theme from the original. This theme was one of the major highlights of the recently released trailer, which has raised expectations from Uriyadi 2.
