Director Maruthi is making efforts to bring actor Rakul Preet on board for his new film, featuring Sai Dharam Tej in the lead. “Maruthi has initiated deliberations with Rakul and narrated the outline of a story. Pleased with the idea, Rakul has asked the director to come up with a bound script. In all possibility, the duo will meet for detailed story discussion in 15 days, soon after Maruthi completes scripting the second half of the film,” informs a source.

Interestingly, Rakul and Tej have worked together in Winner. Although the film tanked at the box office, the duo's performances and on-screen chemistry received appreciation.

Meanwhile, Rakul is gearing up to shoot for the Nagarjuna-starrer Manmadhudu 2, while Tej is awaiting the release of Chitralahari on April 12.
