Director Karthick Naren, who shot to fame with his debut directorial, Dhuruvangal Pathinaru, has revealed that he initially intended to set his second film Naragasooran, in the same sphere. Karthick, in a social media post, said that he intended to make Deepak (the character played by Rahman in D16) a part of Naragasooran as a young cop, and set the story in the 80s.

However,  the filmmaker also revealed that he couldn’t implement the same. He ended the note saying that he will say more about the crossover, when and ‘if the film releases’.

Naragasooran has been waiting for release for several months now due to financial constraints of the producers, Gautham Vasudev Menon and Badri Kasthuri. The delay also led to a public argument between Gautham and Karthick on Twitter, after which Badri Kasthuri was credited as the sole producer. Recently, the film has been speculated to have been bought by a popular television channel.
