Academy award-winner Leonardo DiCaprio, who is known for his environmental activism, has taken a step to raise awareness about the current water crisis in Chennai. 

The actor took to Instagram to share a photograph of a dry well in Chennai, surrounded by people attempting to get water. He captioned the picture as, "'Only rain can save Chennai from this situation.' A well, completely empty, and a city without water. The southern Indian city of Chennai is in crisis after the four main water reservoirs ran dry. Officials in the city continue to try and find alternative sources of water, but the community continues to pray for rain."
