The film is slated to go on floors next month, and will be shot entirely in Kanchipuram

Shanmuga Pandian, who was last seen in Madura Veeran, is set to play a cop in his next. The film will be directed by debutant G Boobalan, an erstwhile co-director of Siva.

Boobalan says, "It's a full-fledged cop entertainer. The script demanded a tall and well-built youngster in his early 20s to play the lead. Shanmuga Pandian is the only actor who satisfies this criteria, so I didn't have any other options in mind." The director believes his film will be on par with Vijayakanth's classic police films. "Vijaykanth sir is the first face that comes to the mind of the Tamil audience when they think about police films. This film will create such a track record for his son, Shanmuga Pandian. The title of the film will be a surprise to the audience; Vijaykanth sir himself will reveal it very soon."

Slated to go on floors in July, the entire film will be shot in Kanchipuram. The film has National Award-winning actor Archana playing Shanmuga Pandian's mother. Apart from her, the film stars debutante Ronica, Vamsi Krishna, Munishkanth, and Azhagam Perumal in important roles.
