Gopichand is Chanakya

CE Features

The 26th film of Gopichand, that marks the first collaboration of Gopichand and director Thiru, has been titled Chanakya and the title poster has been revealed. A spy-thriller, Chanakya reunites Mehreen Pirzada with the 39-year-old actor after last year's Pantham, and it has been shot predominantly in Rajasthan and Indo-Pak border. This is the first time Gopichand is donning the avatar of a spy.

"Chanakya is a espionage thriller set in an army backdrop. About 50 per cent of the shooting has been completed, and the team is currently filming some crucial scenes involving Gopichand and others at a popular bar in Hyderabad," informs a source.

Bankrolled by Kishore Garikipati, Ajay Sunkara and Abhishek Agarwal, Chanakya marks the southern debut of Bollywood actor Zareen Khan, who will be seen in an action-heavy role. Vishal Chandrasekhar is scoring the music, while Vetri Palanisami is handling the camera for the film, which is expected to hit the screens this September.
