The makers of Raghu Kovi’s directorial debut have zeroed in on producer SA Srinivas' son, Suraj Kumar, to play the male lead. Interestingly, Raghu had approached Priya Prakash Varrier to play the female lead in the film. Suraj, the nephew of the late Parvathamma Rajkumar, was looking for the right launch, and has decided to begin his film career with this project.

Producers BS Sudhindra and E Shivaprakash, along with the director, finalised Suraj, who has undergone training in acting, dance, and stunts. With Darshan as a mentor figure, Suraj also worked as an assistant director in two of the actor’s films —  Airavata and Tarak.

The Raghu directorial is expected to start rolling in August. Arjun Janya and Satya Hegde have been roped in as the music director and cameraman, respectively.
