The first-look of Varalaxmi Sarathkumar's upcoming female-centric film, Kanni Theevu, is out. Actor Arya took to Twitter to release the poster, which features the four leads - Varalaxmi, Aishwarya Dutta, Ashna Zaveri and Subhiksha (who starred in Kadugu) - waddling shoulder-deep in water, as a fierce-looking crocodile lurks in the depths.

The film's director, Sundar Balu, in an earlier interview with us, had said that Kanni Theevu is a story centered on four women, who are long-time friends, living in a housing board residence in North Chennai. The four friends, who are socially responsible, lock heads with a few political bigwigs while trying to solve a burning issue in their area, and in the process, "get caught in a web of treachery and deceit".

Sundar Babu had also revealed that the film will feature four elaborately-choreographed action sequences - one of which involving a crocodile - conceived by Stun Shiva, The first-look poster seems to be a still from the action block involving the reptile.

Kannitheevu has cinematography by Chitti Babu, music by Arrol Corelli and editing by Lawrence Kishore. The film is bankrolled by Sundar Balu himself under his banner, Krithika Productions.
