Robert Pattinson, best known for his work in The twilight saga has officially been confirmed to play Batman. 

Reportedly, Warner Bros have approved the actor to reprise the role for a trilogy. The films are to be directed by Matt Reeves. 

Pattinson has been considered a frontrunner because the filmmaker liked him, but the studio jumped between him and Nicholas Hoult, and wanted both of the actors on tape, considering the magnitude of the role. 

The film is produced by Dylan Clark, who produced Reeves’ Planet of the Apes films.

With Christopher Nolan's Tenet already in the bag, this would be another feather on Pattinson's hat. 

The Batman is set to release in 2021.
