Cinematographer Ravi Varman, who was set to reunite with director Shankar in Indian 2, for the first time since Anniyan, might not be part of the Kamal Haasan film anymore.

Reports suggest that since Ravi Varman will be wielding the camera for Mani Ratnam's upcoming period film, Ponniyin Selvan, Shankar's Enthiran cinematographer R Rathnavelu has been roped in for Indian 2

Ponniyin Selvan will mark Ravi Varman's second collaboration with Mani Ratnam after Kaatru Veliyidai (2017), and the film is expected to go on floors early next year.

While Mani Ratnam's big-budget film starring names like Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, and Parthiban is said to be bankrolled by Reliance Entertainment, Lyca Productions are producing Indian 2, which also stars Siddharth, Rakul Preet, Kajal Aggarwal, and Priya Bhavani Shankar.

Indian 2 is set to begin shoot on August 19 in Rajahmundry.
