Stan Lee gets a street named after him in New York

CE Features

Comic book legend Stan Lee is set to have a street named after him in New York in commemoration of his life and achievements. The New York Post reported that the City Council voted earlier this week to approve a proposal to co-name University Avenue in The Bronx as Stan Lee Way. The proposal will become official when the mayor signs it off. For those wondering why this particular locality had been chosen, Lee, who was born in nearby Manhattan, went on to live on University Avenue at a point during his life and even attended high school in The Bronx. The writer-editor resided and worked in the city before moving to the West Coast in the 1980s.

Lee, one of the most important figures of the comic book industry, is famous for co-creating numerous popular fictional characters, including superheroes Spider-Man, the X-Men, Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk, the Fantastic Four, Black Panther, Daredevil, Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch and Ant-Man. In the last fifteen plus years, before his demise in November 2018, Lee became famous for his cameos in the live-action Marvel movies
