Within a week after it was announced that Vijay had sung the track Verithanam for AR Rahman in Bigil, a second song Singappenney, was leaked from the film's album. The track, sung by Rahman himself, along with Sasha Tripathi, has now been officially released.

The inspirational anthem has been penned by lyricist Vivek. It'll be interesting to see how Atlee and cinematography GK Vishn has filmed this track with Vijay training his team of women football players.

Earlier, the leaked version of Singappenney spread like wildfire last week, resulting in mixed reactions from the audience. While a section of the fans started to trend the hashtag #DontWorryTeamBigil, a significant section was happy to get a glimpse of the song before it's official release.

While Verithanam marked the first time Vijay sung for Rahman, Singappenney is Rahman's fourth such voiced song for a Vijay film following Ellapugazhum Iraivan Iraivanukke (Azhagiya Tamil Magan), Neethanae (Mersal) and Oru Viral Puratchi (Sarkar)

Bigil re-unites Vijay with Nayantara for the first time in a decade and the film also boasts of Vivek, Kathir, Yogi Babu, Indhuja Ravichandran, and Reba Monica John.
