Vijay Deverakonda, who graced the pre-release event of director KVR Mahendra's upcoming period romance Dorasani, has revealed why he has refrained from promoting his brother Anand Deverakonda's debut film. "I wanted Anand to be trolled and face online wrath for his work. True to my expectations, the teaser and trailer of the film have triggered a wave of reactions. But Anand has confidently handled everything like a man and I'm happy about it," said Vijay.

Recalling how Anand helped him financially to pursue his dream in cinema, a teary-eyed Vijay shared, "Anand used to take care of the family financially and whatever I am today is because of him. When he expressed his desire to act, I told him to deal with everything on his own — from picking the right script to the film's release — as I want him to understand the struggles of an actor. I was taken aback when he arrived with an acting proposal. Although I have warned him of how things will be in the industry, he didn't listen to my words and became an actor.  We never got time to discuss Dorasani, as I was shooting for Dear Comrade in Kakinada."

The Geetha Govindam actor was all praise for director Mahendra and debutante Shivatmika Rajasekhar, the female lead of Dorasani. "I recently watched Dorasani and was amazed by the performances of Shivatmika, Anand, and the three supporting actors. Director Mahendra and the team of Dorasani have delivered a classic. The audience will definitely have a wonderful experience in the theatres," concluded Vijay.
