Vijay, who last lent his voice to the track Papa Papa from Bairavaa in 2017, has now sung a song for his upcoming film, Bigil. The song, Verithanam marks the first time the actor is singing for AR Rahman.

Though the actor-composer duo have worked together on several films in the past, like Udhaya, Azhagiya Tamizh Magan, Mersal, and Sarkar, Vijay had not lent his voice to a song composed by Rahman till now.

Verithanam, the first single from the Atlee-directorial, has lyrics by Vivek, who has previously penned the chartbuster, Aalaporan Tamizhan from Mersal

Sharing the news on Twitter, Archana Kalpathi, the creative producer of Bigil, wrote,

There is no word yet on when the single, or the rest of the album, will be launched.

Starring Nayanthara as the female lead, Bigil also has actors like Vivekh, Jackie Shroff, Kathir, Indhuja Ravichandran, and Reba Monica John playing important roles. The film is scheduled to hit the screens on Diwali.
