Pavel Navageethan, who turned heads with his role in Vada Chennai, is all set to make his directorial debut with a murder mystery, titled V1. The first look of the film was recently launched by Vada Chennai-director Vetri Maaran. The colorful poster features an illustration of a murder scene, which asks the audience to guess the date of the incident.

Pavel tells us that the protagonist of V1 is a police officer who specialises in kinesics (the study of body language as a form of non-verbal communication), who takes up a 9 to 5 job as a forensics officer because of his nyctophobia (fear of darkness). "The title denotes the room where the murder takes place. V1 is a procedural where the lead starts investigating an obscure case at the behest of his former colleague," he says.

Produced by Aravind Dharmaraj, NA Ramu, and Saravanan Ponraj, V1 features newcomer Ram Arun Castro as the lead, and Lijeesh as the second lead. The film also stars actor Linga, who was recently seen in Vijay Sethupathi’s Sindhubaadh.

V1 is slated for release next month.
