 Taapsee Pannu gives the nod to Mithali Raj biopic

Mithali Raj is the captain of the Indian women's cricket team and is considered the greatest batswoman in history

It was rumoured last year that Taapsee Pannu will be essaying Indian cricket Mithali Raj in her upcoming biopic. According to recent buzz, Taapsee has given her nod to the film, which is expected to go on floors next year. The actor had previously played a hockey player in Soorma and will be seen as octogenarian sharpshooter Prakashi Tomar in Saand Ki Aankh

Mithali Raj is the captain of the Indian women’s cricket team. She holds the record for the highest half-centuries in women’s ODIs, as well as being the highest run-scorer in women's international cricket. Mithali was born in a Tamil family in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Her father is a retired Indian Air Force officer. She presently resides in Hyderabad, Telangana. 

Taapsee Pannu was last seen in Game Over. Her last Bollywood release was Badla, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan. Besides Saadh Ki Ankh, the actor will be seen in Mission Mangal. The space-themed film, based on the women scientists behind the 2014 Mangalayan mission, is scheduled for release on August 15.
