Arya, who was last seen in Ghajinikanth, has reportedly been roped in for Kamal Haasan’s next Indian 2. However, an official confirmation is awaited. If he joins the cast, the Naan Kadavul actor will be joining Kamal Haasan, Kajal Aggarwal, Nedumudi Venu and Delhi Ganesh. Earlier, there were speculations that Simbu or Siddharth might be part of the film.

Directed by Shankar, this is the second instalment in the franchise, with the first film hitting the screens in 1996. The crew began shooting for Indian 2 in Chennai on January 18.

For the first time, Anirudh Ravichander will be composing for a Shankar-Kamal Haasan project. Carrying the tagline, 'Older, Wiser, Deadlier', the film is said to talk in detail about current social issues, and the plot is expected to begin right where the first part ended.
