Tillotama Shome wins Best Actress award at Brussels International Film Festival

Actor Tillotama Shome has won the Best Actress at the Brussels International Film Festival for her performance as Ratna in Rohena Gera's Sir.

The actor took to social media to thank the film festival and jury members for honouring her with the award.

Matthieu Van Lierde, the festival's Artistic Director, said in a statement: "The film was unanimously appreciated by all the members of the jury for the performance of its actors and for its direction. Both the jury members and the audience that attended the screening were deeply moved and touched by Ratna's story and the delicate and sensitive way in which it is presented."

Replying to a congratulatory message from director Rohena Gera, Tillotama expressed gratitude towards her director for entrusting her with the complex role of Ratna.
