There has been buzz for a while now that Shah Rukh Khan and Farhan Akhtar might soon reunite for a third film in their successful Don franchise. At a recent press conference in Mumbai, Farhan, who hasn't directed a film in the last eight years, dropped major hints about Don 3.

Asked about his upcoming projects in 2019, he said, “I have got The Sky is Pink as an actor which is directed by Shonali Bose. There is also going to be a very special announcement, but this is not the time and platform for it.” 

Shah Rukh Khan, who was last seen in his home production Zero, is presently gearing up for the shoot of Saare Jahaan Se Accha, a biopic on Indian pilot and astronaut Rakesh Sharma. The film will go on floors in February followed by a second schedule in May.

Don 3 is expected to enter production once Khan wraps up Saare Jahaan Se Accha. Last year, producer Ritesh Sidhwani had also assured that Don 3 was definitely in the works.
