Producer-distributor-turned-actor RK Suresh, who recently played the lead in last year's Billa Pandi, will next be working in debutant director R Subramanian's film. Titled Ameera, the film will also star director and politician Seeman in an important role. 

Malayalam actor Anu Sithara, who was recently seen in the Tamil film Podhu Nalam Karudhi, has been roped in to play the female lead in this film. Ameera went on floors today, and the film's first look, featuring Anu Sithara, was released as well. 

On the technical front, Ameera will have music by Vishal Chandrasekhar, editing by San Lokesh and cinematography by Chezhiyan, whose directorial debut, To Let, had its theatrical release on Thursday.
