Karthi's latest film, Dev, directed by debutant Rajath Ravishankar, which was released on February 14, has been getting negative feedback from the audience regarding its length. The film, a romantic drama, revolves around a super-rich guy, who loves adventure and falls in love with a headstrong tech entrepreneur, who hates men because her father had left her and her mom when she was a child.

Since many viewers were of the opinion that the film, at two and a half hours, felt like a drag, the makers have now trimmed fifteen minutes from its running time in an effort to make the second half tauter.

Co-starring Rakul Preet and produced by Prince Pictures, Dev also features Kallachirippu-fame Amrutha Srinivasan, RJ Vigneshkanth, Ramya Krishnan, and Prakashraj.
