TV Chandran’s Pengalila to be released on March 8

National award-winning director TV Chandran is back with his new film, Pengalila, which is scheduled for release on March 8. Starring Lal, Akshara Kishore, Renji Panicker, and Indrans, the film will depict the emotional bond between Azhagan, a 65-year-old daily wage worker, and an 8-year-old girl, Radha.

Akshara Kishore plays Radha while Lal plays Azhagan, who is entrusted with the job of cleaning Radha’s house and backyard. Scripted by Chandran, Pengalila will explore caste as well as land politics. It is produced by Benazir under the banner of Benzy Productions. Noted cinematographer Santosh Thundiyil is cranking the camera.

A multiple national and state award winner, Chandran is known for making critically-acclaimed films like Ponthan Mada, Dany, and Susanna.
