Vijay Sethupathi's next, Thuglak Durbar, a fantasy comedy

Gopinath Rajendran

Vijay Sethupathi announced his next film with debutant director, Delhi Prasad Deenadayal, when he addressed the press on Monday on the occasion of the 100th day celebration of 96. The actor confirmed that the film is named Thuglak Durbar.

Speaking to us, Delhi Prasad, who had assisted directors Krishna, Balaji Tharaneetharan and Prem Kumar, says he had narrated the script to Vijay Sethupathi two years ago. "It's a political fantasy. It will be a mass film with satire, drama and action. Politics is just a backdrop and the fantasy element revolves around the main character. It's not a film with an agenda. We are yet to zero in on the rest of the cast," he adds.

The film apparently shares many of its technicians with Vijay Sethupathi's 96. With Govind Vasantha in-charge of music and Balaji Tharaneetharan penning the dialogues, Thuglak Durbar, produced by Lalit Kumar of Seven Screen Studio, will go on floors in June.
