While there is much speculation about Vijay's next film with Atlee, tentatively named Thalapathy 63, it has now come to light that it is likely to be a sports film. In a recent media interaction, AR Rahman, who is composing music for the film, has revealed that it will be on the lines of Pele and Lagaan. Rahman has further said that it is a subject that hasn’t been attempted before in South Indian cinema.

The shooting of Thalapathy 63 is currently underway in Chennai. While Nayanthara plays the female lead, the film also stars Kathir, Yogi Babu, Vivekh, Anandraj, and Daniel Balaji.

Produced by AGS Entertainment, Thalapathy 63 will be Atlee’s third film with Vijay after Theri and Mersal. The film is expected to hit the screens for Diwali this year.
