Actor Pavel Navageethan, known for his roles in films such as Madras, Peranbu, Vada Chennai, and Magalir Mattum, has joined the cast of Ajith's upcoming film, Valimai. Directed by Vinoth, who is teaming up with Ajith once again after Nerkonda Paarvai, the film is said to feature Pavel in a negative role.

A source close to the film confirms that the actor has already completed a schedule in Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad.

Producer Boney Kapoor recently confirmed that Valimai, which will star Ajith as a cop, will be a Diwali 2020 release. This will be Ajith's first cop film since Gautham Vasudev Menon's Yennai Arindhaal.

Valimai will have music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography by Nirav Shah, and art direction by Thotta Tharani. 

Meanwhile, Pavel recently made his directorial debut with V1, which is currently running in theatres.
