It’s a wrap for Shoojit Sircar’s Sardar Udham Singh

The final schedule of Shoojit Sircar’s Sardar Udham Singh has been wrapped up in Europe. The biopic stars Vicky Kaushal as the revolutionary freedom fighter, who assassinated Michael O' Dwyer (the former lieutenant governor of Punjab) in 1940, London. The assassination was in revenge for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar in 1919.

Sardar Udham Singh went on floors in April last year. The period drama is a Rising Sun Film Production, produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar. Presented by Rising Sun Film and Kino Works, the film is set for release on October 2, 2020.

Vicky Kaushal won a National Award this year for his performance in Uri: The Surgical Strike. He is a part of Karan Johar’s upcoming epic Takht, and the franchise horror film Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship. 

Shoojit Sircar last directed October (2018), starring Varun Dhawan. His upcoming release is Gulabo Sitabo, a comedy featuring Ayushmann Khurrana and Amitabh Bachchan.
