Anupama Parameswaran, who recently tasted success with Rakshasudu, has been roped in to play a crucial role in Karthikeya 2, say reports. A sequel to 2014 mystery thriller of the same name, the film reunites actors Nikhil and Swathi Reddy with director Chandoo Mondeti for the second time.

"The makers are targeting a pan-India release and have signed on Anupama Parameswaran, who is popular in Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu, as the second female lead opposite Nikhil. The team is planning to shoot in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. They will kick-start the proceedings by the end of January or the first week of February," informs a source.

Currently, Nikhil is going for a body transformation and will sport a six-pack and a lean and brawny look in the film produced under People Media Factory banner. Set in the backdrop of Kumbh Mela, the film, to be shot in Telugu, will be dubbed into Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi.
