In a surprise announcement, Sun Pictures has stated that it will collaborate with Dhanush for an upcoming project. Tentatively being referred to as D44, the production house made the revelation today on Twitter. However, no further details of the other cast and crew were announced.

The yet-to-be-titled will be the first Dhanush film to be bankrolled by Sun Pictures, which has previously distributed Mappillai, Aadukalam, and some other films of the Asuran actor.

Currently working on his film with Karthik Subbaraj, Dhanush also has RS Durai Senthilkumar’s Pattas, a film with Mari Selvaraj, and one with Ramkumar in the pipeline.

Sun Pictures, on the other hand, has the Rajinikanth-starrer Darbar, directed by AR Murugadoss, up for release this Pongal. Interestingly, Pattas is also scheduled for release at the same time and will clash with Darbar at the box office.
