Priya Bhavani Shankar is on a roll. Following Indian 2, Mafia, Bommai, Kasada Thapara, Kalathil Santhippom, and Kuruthi Aattam, the actor is now part of the Tamil remake of the Telugu hit Pellichoopulu.

Helmed by debutant Karthikk Sundar, an erstwhile associate of director Vijay, the remake will have Priya sharing screen space with Harish Kalyan. Shooting for the project began today in Chennai.

In a statement, the director said, “When I first saw Pelli Choopulu, I immediately called Harish Kalyan, my best friend since childhood, and told him if this film were to be remade in Tamil, he would fit the lead character perfectly. It is funny how the universe listened to that conversation and, here we are. I’m also excited to work with Priya Bhavani Shankar. She is a thorough actor and I’ve always enjoyed her performances on screen.”

Produced by SP Cinemas, the yet-to-be-titled film will have music by Vishal Chandrasekhar.
