Jai, who is awaiting the release of Capmaari, has signed another project titled Yenni Thuniga. The film, directed by debutant SK Vettri Selvan, went on floors today.

The title of the film is inspired by a couplet in Thirukural, says Vettri. “The couplet means one shouldn’t have second thoughts after taking a course of action. The hero is a calm and well-sorted guy. His life turns into a mess because of a bunch of bigwigs. The situation forces him into a path from which there is no turning back. Yenni Thuniga is an action film with many twists, which will all be enjoyable.”

Speaking about working with Jai, the director says, “Jai sir made everything comfortable for me and never treated me like a newcomer. Initially, people raised concerns about him, wondering if he would turn up on sets and be punctual. But he has been co-operative.”

He is equally grateful to the the film’s music composer Sam CS. “Without these two, this film would not have happened.”

Athulya Ravi, who has already shared screen space with Jai in Capmaari, is joining hands with the actor again for Yenni Thuniga. Vettri says, “Like the hero, the female lead also goes through a life-changing situation, and I wanted an actor who looks soft, and will then go on to break that mould and turn bold.”

Anjali Nair and Seethakathi-fame Sunil Reddy are also a part of Yenni Thuniga. JB Dinesh Kumar is in charge of cinematography and 96-fame Karthik Netha is handling the lyrics.
