Darshan, Arjun Janya, MD Shridhar hope for hattrick success with Odeya

A Sharadhaa

Darshan’s Odeya is creating the right kind of buzz. This will be the Challenging Star’s third release in 2019, following Yajamana in March, and Munirathna Kurukshetra in August. Both those films had a successful run at the box office, and the actor is hoping to recreate the magic with Odeya.

As with any Darshan film, fans are getting ready for the film's release today with roadshows, life-size cutouts, and crackers.

Inspired by Ajith Kumar’s Tamil film, Veeram, Odeya, marks the third collaboration of producer Sandesh Nagaraj, director MD Shridhar, and Darshan. “Both our previous films — Porki and Bulbul — were successful and had a 100-day run at the box office. That’s one of the reasons we like to work together,” says the director.

Interestingly, Odeya also marks the third time music director Arjun Janya is composing for a film starring Darshan (after Chakravarthy and Tarak).

With cinematography by Krishna Kumar, the family entertainer also stars Sanah Thimmayya, Yashas, Pankaj, Niranjan, Samarth, Ravi Shankar, Devaraj, Sadhu Kokila, Chikkanna, and Avinash.

Sandesh N, who is producing the film under the banner of Sandesh Productions, is also taking up a new role as a distributor. “Odeya will be released in approximately 400 theatres across Karnataka. We are also releasing it in around 70 theatres in cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Delhi, and Pune,” he says.
