Newcomer Ruthvik Reddy is making his Bollywood debut in director Arun Shankar’s next. Born in Hyderabad, Ruthvik graduated in acting from the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York. He essays the central character, Naren, in Arun’s film, which is based on a social issue.

“I auditioned several actors before locking down Ruthvik,” Arun shares. “I had sent him the scene that was being circulated to everybody for auditions and when I saw his video, I didn't feel that he could pull it off. When he didn’t hear from me, he reached out to me again, to get more specific details about this character and wanted to send me another audition. I was impressed by his zeal to put in more effort for an audition in which he was initially not accepted.”

After Jubin Nautiyal, Arun Shankar has roped in Badshah to sing the opening track, a party dance number for the film. The film should roll in January.
