We had recently reported about director Aashiq Abu doing a segment for an anthology project. Titled Pennum Cherukkanum, Abu's follow-up to Virus will reportedly feature Roshan Mathew and Darshana Rajendran in the lead roles. Interestingly, the two have collaborated before for A Very Normal Family, a play directed by Roshan.

Roshan, who was recently seen in an impressive role in Geetu Mohandas' Moothon, is also part of an upcoming Anurag Kashyap directorial in a leading role. Darshana has appeared in Mayaanadhi and Virus.

Pennum Cherukkanum is based on a script by Unni R, who has previously scripted Ranjith's Leela and the upcoming Prathi Poovankozhi, starring Manju Warrier.

The anthology is said to be a collection of four women-centric stories and has directors Jay K, Venu, and Rajeev Ravi working on individual films. It has been revealed that Venu's film is based on Uroob's short story Rachiyamma and will star Parvathy and Asif Ali, who were recently seen together in Uyare. Jay K's segment is based on a story by Santosh Echikkanam and stars Joju George and Samyuktha Menon.

Rajeev Ravi is yet to begin filming his segment as he is still busy with the post-production of his period film, Thuramukham.
