Martin Scorsese's The Irishman scheduled for release on November 27

Veteran filmmaker Martin Scorcese's Netflix original, The Irishman has officially been scheduled for release on November 27, confirms Netflix India. The streaming platform took to Twitter to make the announcement.

Adapted from Charles Brandt's 2003 book I Heard You Paint Houses, The Irishman features Robert De Niro essaying the role of Frank 'The Irishman' Sheeran. The film tells the story of mafia hitman Sheeran (De Niro), who was rumored to be involved with the assassinations of John F Kennedy and Jimmy Hoffa (Pacino), an American labour leader.

The cast also includes Joe Pesci, best known for films like Goodfellas and My Cousin Vinny, as well as Harvey Keitel, Bobby Canavale, Anna Pacquin, Ray Romano and Jesse Plemons.
