Darshan-starrer Kurukshetra to hit the 30-crore mark in the first week of release in Karnataka

Despite the floods in the State, shows are running houseful everywhere, and the film has also received a good critical response

Kurukshetra, which was released in 2D and 3D in more than 400 theatres across Karnataka on August 9, is expected to collect a massive Rs 30 crore at the box-office in the first week. The mythological film based on Mahabharata is still running strong in theatres.

The 50th film of Darshan, produced by Munirathna, had a midnight release on fans’ demand, in Kannada and Telugu. Despite the floods in the State, shows are running houseful everywhere, and the film has also received a good critical response.

Kurukshetra is also doing well in the USA, and has collected $31,139 in four days. The Darshan-starrer is getting a good response in Canada and Australia as well. 

Distributed under Rockline Entertainments, the makers are looking to increase the number of theatres in the coming week. Meanwhile, they are gearing up for Kurukshetra’s release in Tamil Nadu on August 15, distributed by Kabali-producer Kalaipuli S Thanu. The release of the Malayalam and Hindi versions will depend on the monsoons.

Kurukshetra, directed by Naganna, has an ensemble cast that includes actors like Ambareesh, Ravichandran, Arjun Sarja, Sneha, Meghana Raj, Hariprriya, Ravi Shankar, and Nikhil Kumar. The film has cinematography by Jayanan Vincent and music by V Harikrishna.
