The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has made nine changes to Sidharth Malhotra-Parineeti Chopra’s Jabariya Jodi. These include muting of abusive words or replacing them with milder alternatives.

Granting a U/A Certificate, the CBFC has removed a reference to masturbation (heard in the film’s promos) by replacing ‘Baaya Hath…’ with ‘Jajbato ko araam de rahe hain’. Additionally, the mention of an Indian state has been changed to ‘yaha par’ in a dialogue involving ‘nasbandi’ (vasectomy).

Jabariya Jodi is written by Sanjeev K Jha and directed by debutant Prasant Singh. Set in Bihar, the romantic-comedy satirises the groom-kidnapping menace prevalent in the region. Co-produced by Karma Media & Entertainment and Balaji Motion Pictures, the film is scheduled for release tomorrow.

Sidharth Malhotra is presently working on Shershah, a biopic on Kargil martyr Vikram Batra. Parineeti Chopra, on the other hand, started shooting for The Girl On The Train in London earlier this week.
