After stalling the release of the Vivek Oberoi-starrer film PM Narendra Modi till the end of the polls, the Election Commission on Saturday directed digital platform Eros Now to stop the online streaming of Modi: Journey Of A Common Man, a fiction web-series based on the Indian Prime Minister.

Five episodes of the ten-part series were available on Eros Now since April 3. The show is directed by Umesh Shukla, whose previous works include Oh My God and 102 Not Out

The EC in its notice to Eros Now said, “It was brought to our notice that a web series Modi-Journey of a Common Man, having 5 episodes, is available on your platform. You’re directed to stop forthwith the online streaming and remove all connected content of the series till further orders.”

Modi: Journey of a Common Man stars Ashish Sharma and Mahesh Thakur as the young and old versions of Narendra Modi respectively. The cast also includes Makrand Deshpande, Jimit Trivedi and Darshan Jariwalla.
