Lok Sabha elections for 38 constituencies as well as by-elections for 16 Assembly seats in Tamil Nadu will take place tomorrow and the Tamil Nadu Theatres Association has announced that two scheduled shows - morning and afternoon - will be cancelled across the state.

Tirupur Subramanian, the President of Tamil Nadu Theatre and Multiplex Owners Association  (TNTMOA), says,"Usually we cancel only the day shows and late afternoon shows do run. But this time around, we have asked theatres across the theatre to cancel both shows. This is largely a recommendation and while most theatres have cancelled both shows, some have said they will start up with matinee shows." He feels that there is no clamour for any specific movies and that also prompted the decision. "We also expect to lose upto 25 crores across the state for cancellation of these shows."
