If reports in tinsel town are anything to go by, director Shankar will soon make his debut in Telugu cinema with a film starring Megastar Chiranjeevi. Speculations are rife that the 2.0 director has agreed in principle to team up with the actor for a big-budget project after wrapping up his upcoming film, Indian 2, a sequel to 1996 blockbuster Kamal Haasan-starrer Indian

“Chiranjeevi has committed to a film produced by his brother-in-law and veteran producer, Allu Arvind, after completing his 153rd film under Trivikram Srinivas’s direction. As Arvind is someone who always sets up exciting combinations, he has approached Shankar with a proposal, to which the director responded positively. If everything falls in place, the Shankar-Chiranjeevi film will start rolling in mid-2020,” informs a source.

It may be recalled that the Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy actor was the initial choice to play the lead in Shankar’s political-thriller, Mudhalvan, though the role eventually went to Arjun.
