We had earlier reported that cinematographer-turned-producer PG Muthiah of PG Media Works will be bankrolling a film titled Cocktail. Directed by debutant Ra Vijaya Murugan, it is said to be India's first film to feature a cockatoo (a bird belonging to certain parrot species) in the lead.

Now, the latest in the news is that Yogi Babu, who has become sort of a staple in Tamil cinema, has been signed to play the lead in the film. He will be seen as a stylist who owns a saloon for dogs in the film. A foreign actor will be playing the female lead opposite Yogi.

According to sources, Cocktail will be about how Yogi Babu and his friends, who get framed in a murder case, prove their innocence, with the help of the cockatoo. The whole of the second half will reportedly transpire as a hilarious car chase.

The film, which went on floors recently, has its cinematography by Raveen, an erstwhile associate of PG Muthiah. The music is composed by debutant Sai Bhaskar, who had trained under GV Prakash. SN Fazil, who had earlier worked in Lisaa and Danny, will be editing the film.
