Vaibhav-starrer RK Nagar, which was supposed to hit the screens this Friday, has now been postponed. This was announced through a video message on social media by filmmaker Venkat Prabhu, who is producing the film under his Black Ticket banner along with Badri Kasturi's Shraddha Entertainment.

Explaining the reasons behind the sudden postponement of the release, Venkat said, "Unfortunately, due to things that are not our fault, we are facing a number of issues, and are forced to release the film only after the elections." Adding that he doesn't want to mention anyone in particular, Venkat urged cinema lovers, audience, and the media to continue supporting their venture.

The filmmaker also clarified that despite the title, there are no political undertones in this commercial entertainer, and it hasn't been taken to hurt anyone's sentiments.

Also starring Sampath, Sana Althaf, and Inigo Prabhakaran in important roles, RK Nagar is directed by Vadacurry-fame Saravana Rajan, and has music by Premgi Amaren.
