After much speculation, Suriya’s project with Iruthi Suttru-fame Sudha Kongara was officially launched on Sunday. The shooting for the film will begin from today, according to a tweet from Suriya’s official Twitter account. Tentatively referred to as Suriya 38, the film will also star Sarvam Thaala Mayam actor Aparna Balamurali as the female lead. 

Suriya 38 is jointly produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment and Guneet Monga, who co-produced the Oscar-winning documentary short, Period. End of Sentence. The film, which is Sudha Kongara’s third film after Drohi and Irudhi Suttru, will have cinematography by Niketh Bommireddy (who has worked in films like U Turn and Ee Nagarinki Emaindhi) and editing by Sathish Suriya.

The film will have music by GV Prakash Kumar, who recently revealed that the album will have a rock number by the famous indie band, Thaikkudam Bridge. Notably, music composer Govind Vasantha is the frontman of Thaikkudam Bridge. It was earlier revealed that the musician has already finished composing the album for the film.
