Children of Heaven gets a Tamil remake

The film has been shot for 55 days in Kodaikanal and Poomparai, and the post-production is currently underway

The much-acclaimed 1997 Iranian film, Children of Heaven has now been remade in Tamil and Telugu. Produced by Madras Muthu Movies, the Tamil version has been titled Akka Kuruvi. The film has been adapted to screen by Samy, who is known for films such as Mirugam, Uyir and Sindhu Samaveli. The film will also have a Telugu version. A story about siblings who bond over a pair of lost shoes, Children of Heaven was nominated for the Oscars in 1998. 

The film has been shot for 55 days in Kodaikanal and Poomparai, and the post-production is currently underway. Akka Kuruvi has cinematography by Uppal V Nayanar, editing by Manikandan Sivakumar, and production design by Veerasamar. The film is expected to hit the screens this summer.
