Salman Khan started shooting for Dabangg 3 at his home town Indore, Madhya Pradesh on Monday. Directed by Prabhu Deva, the action-entertainer film has Salman reprising the role of Chulbul Pandey, a corrupt cop with a golden heart, for the third time. Franchise regulars Arbaaz Khan and Sonakshi Sinha have also returned for the sequel.

“Arbaaz and I have just landed in Indore. We are going to Mandleshwar and Maheshwar, where our grandfather was working in the police force, to shoot for Dabangg 3,” Salman said in an announcement video.

The first Dabangg film was co-written and directed by Abhinav Kashyap. Released in 2010, the film was a major box-office hit. A sequel, Dabangg 2, directed by Arbaaz Khan, was released in 2012.

Salman Khan’s upcoming release is Bharat (June 5). Post Dabangg 3, the actor will be shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Inshallah, co-starring Alia Bhatt.
