The lead actors of 96, Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha, met the press today along with director C Prem Kumar and composer Govind Vasantha, to promote their film ahead of its release.

Speaking at the event, Trisha said, "The pre-release buzz for 96 is a bit intimidating as almost everyone who saw the film's teaser and trailer told me that the film would be a hit for sure. I would like to thank director Prem Kumar, as he has written a very beautiful love story which revolves around the heroine. I haven't acted in such a character in my entire career. It would be apt to say that I and Vijay Sethupathi have lived and behaved as Janu and Ram in front of the camera."

Vijay Sethupathi who spoke after Trisha said, "Even for Chekka Chivantha Vaanam I asked the audience to come to the theatres without any expectations. But the audience's expectation for 96 is already overwhelming. Working in the film was a very satisfying experience for me as an actor, everybody who was part of the project also felt the same."

96 will be hitting the screens a day earlier than the rest of the week's releases, Ratsasan, Nota and Aan Devathai, on October 4.
