Tollywood star Vijay Devarkonda, who is making his Tamil debut with the bilingual NOTA, was in the city to promote the film. Kicking off his speech in Tamil, Vijay said that he had struggled to speak a few words in the language when the project kicked off. “I wasn't listening to my speeches at the last press meet. I was practising the Thirukural I had to recite. But today, I stand before you with a job well done." 

Vijay said that working with senior actors such as MS Bhaskar, Sathyaraj and Nasser was an honour. "They've killed it. It was such an amazing experience working with the technicians as well; one of my smoothest experiences."

Vijay, who was praised by the director and other actors for his commitment to learning Tamil and dubbing for himself, interspersed his speech with a smattering of the language. “I don’t want to talk much now. I keep seeing the phrase ‘marana waiting’ on Twitter. I am also marana waiting to see you all at the theatres on October 5.” 

He ended his speech with a Thirukural that says that people who want to conquer the world, wait for the moment. “I don’t want to conquer the world, just the hearts of the Tamil people,” said Devarkonda.
