Warner Bros’ Birds of Prey, an all-female DC film based on the comic series of the same name, will be released on February 7, 2020. The film, which will be directed by Cathy Yan, has Margot Robbie reprising her role of Harley Quinn, from 2016’s Suicide Squad.

The hunt is on to cast for the two other prominent characters — Black Canary and Huntress — and the buzz is that Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Jurnee Smolett-Bell and Janelle Monae are in the running to play the former, while one of Margaret Qualley, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Cristin Milioti could play the latter. With filming set to start in January, this will be one of four projects that Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn is expected to feature in, in the DC Extended Universe.
