Late actor Sivaji Ganesan’s 1972-blockbuster Vasantha Maligai will get a digital release soon, 46 years from its original release. One of the yesteryear classics from Sivaji’s filmography, Vasantha Maligai was famous for its music and pathos. The film’s digital version will be released by Sri Thenandal Films.

Directed by KS Prakash Rao and produced by T Ramanaidu, Vasantha Maligai featured chartbusting songs with lyrics by Kannadasan, which are popular even today.  Apart from Sivaji, the film also starred Vanisri, Major Sundarrajan, Nagesh, and Balaji. 

It is notable that several other yesteryear classics have been getting digital re-releases in recent times. MG Ramachandran’s Ayirathil Oruvan, Naadodi Mannan, and Rickshawkaran are some examples.
